Faculty & staff can purchase software through the Apple Store within NCSU’s Marketplace. The department may also obtain Apple software for university machines by participating in the Apple Volume Purchase Program. In the event the department has purchased software through the Apple Volume Purchase Program, it is highly recommended that users discuss Apple software purchases for university machines with their IT staff to avoid possible duplication and higher costs.
How do I acquire Mac OS X Server?
Faculty or staff who needs to acquire Mac OS X Server will need to purchase the license directly from Apple from within NCSU’s MarketPlace.
How does the Apple Volume Purchase Program Work?
Upon receipt of the Volume Vouchers, The Program Facilitator provides the vouchers to what Apple refers to as a Program Facilitator. The Program Facilitator may redeem Volume Vouchers, purchasing various apps and quantities up to the dollar amount credited. After purchasing apps, the Program Facilitator will receive an email with a link to the Program Facilitator’s dashboard, now populated with app-specific codes, one code per license. These codes may then be distributed to end-users for redemption at the App Store.
